The Honorable Richard L. Armitage, Former Deputy
Secretary of State of the United States, Joins
M.I.C. Industries, Inc.'s Board of Advisors

Reston, Virginia - June 7, 2005 - M.I.C. Industries, Inc., the sole manufacturer of the patented Ultimate Building Machine® (UBM®), today announced that Richard L. Armitage, former Deputy Secretary of State of the United States, joined its Board of Advisors.

The Honorable Richard L. Armitage's stellar and distinguished government service has spanned 30 years. In his last position, he was Deputy Secretary of State, the second-most senior position in the State Department, during President George W. Bush's administration. From his confirmation by the U.S. Senate in March 2001 until he left his post in February 2005, Mr. Armitage served as the Deputy Secretary of State to Secretary Colin L. Powell.

Mr. Armitage came to Washington in 1975 and became a Pentagon consultant, and was posted in Tehran , Iran , until 1976. Following two years in the private sector, he took the position as Administrative Assistant to Senator Robert Dole of Kansas in 1978. In the 1980 Reagan campaign, Mr. Armitage was senior advisor to the Interim Foreign Policy Advisory Board, which prepared the President-Elect for major international policy issues confronting the new administration. Mr. Armitage was also Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for East Asia and Pacific Affairs in the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

Since then, Mr. Armitage has held a variety of government positions, including Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, Presidential Special Negotiator for the Philippines Military Bases Agreement, Special Mediator for Water in the Middle East, and President Bush's Special Emissary to Jordan 's King Hussein during the 1991 Gulf War. As the United States ' Ambassador, Mr. Armitage directed U.S. assistance to the newly independent states (NIS) of the former Soviet Union .
