Ambassador Giovanni Castellaneta former Ambassador of Italy to the United States joins the M.I.C. Industries' Board of Advisors

Reston, Virginia - December 31, 2012- M.I.C. Industries, Inc., is pleased to announce that Ambassador Giovanni Castellaneta has joined M.I.C. Industries, Inc.’s Board of Advisors and the Chairman’s Inner Circle Advisory Board.

It is a great pleasure to announce the appointment of Ambassador Giovanni Castellaneta to M.I.C. Industries, Inc.’s Board of Advisors and the Chairman’s Inner Circle Advisory Board. “A veteran Italian diplomat, Ambassador Castellaneta’s extensive international experience will be an enormous asset to M.I.C.’s global strategy and vision”, says Michael S. Ambassador Giovanni Castellaneta is the Chairman of SACE, the Italian export credit agency, which assists clients in more than 180 countries.  Recently, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Finmeccanica S.p.A., Italy’s leading industrial group in the high technology and defense sectors, and also served as its Vice Chairman.

A career diplomat, Ambassador Castellaneta’s distinguished government service has spanned over 30 years.  His last assignment was as the Ambassador of Italy to the United States, from 2005 to 2009, during which time he also held the position of Italy’s Permanent Observer to the Organization of American States (OAS) and Ambassador to the Bahamas Islands. 

Giovanni Castellaneta previously served as Ambassador of Italy to Iran. He later served as Italy's Ambassador to Australia, where he was also accredited to Fiji Islands, Papa New Guinea, Republic of Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Republic of Nauru, and Federated States of Micronesia.

Among his many positions held throughout a stellar career, Ambassador Castellaneta was the Foreign Policy Advisor to Italy's Prime Minister, as well as his Personal Representative for the G8 Summits. He was also the Foreign Policy Advisor to the Minister of Economy and Finance, and subsequently Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

Ambassador Castellaneta served in a number of additional posts abroad from Paris, Geneva, and Brussels to Portugal, Albania, and Somalia.

Ambassador Castellaneta was decorated Knight of the Grand Cross of the Republic of Italy and has been bestowed several foreign decorations, including the Légion d'honneur of the French Republic.
